The intentional death of an infant is always a horrible crime, but the death of Paris Talley was even more so. Paris was killed when her mother, China Arnold, 28, placed the three month-old in a microwave and turned it on.
Arnold, who has three other children, has been convicted of Paris’s death and will face a sentence of between 25 years and life after the jury rejected the death penalty as punishment.

From what I have read, the jury could not reach a unanimous decision during the sentencing phase to give her the death penalty. Because of that, she was given a life sentence, instead.
