A man. his father and his teenage son fishing today in the River Raisin have discovered what may be the body of Nevaeh in a shallow grave on the riverbank. Reports say that the 
body was enclosed in cement and had a foul odor emanating from it which caused the men to investigate it further. After the man chipped away the cement and discovered flesh, he called police. Ihe clothes match those that the five year-old was last seen wearing when she went missing and searchers also recovered some long brown hair. Unconfirmed reports have reported that Jennifer Buchanan has been told by authorities that the body is that of her daughter.

Police continue the search for Neveah and following up on leads.
Police questioned a man they described as the boyfriend of Neveah’s mother, George Kennedy, a registered sex offender, Sheriff’s Office Maj. Dale Malone said. They also questioned and released a man Malone said was a transient.
Neveah’s mother denied a love interest in Kennedy, describing him as a friend who calls her every morning — and befriended Neveah.
“He was basically the only male figure in her life because her (expletive) father wanted to disappear,” she said. She said he acted like she was joking when she called him to tell her Neveah had disappeared. He helped search until investigators took him into custody for a parole violation, she said.
Her mother, Jennifer Buchannan has been given a lie detector test.
She said she believes she passed a lie detector test she took Monday, calling claims by Neveah’s father’s side of the family that she flunked “just all lies.” Then she added that she hadn’t slept in 24 hours before taking the test.
AMBER Alert Issued for 5 Year Old Michigan Girl

The State of Michigan issued the Amber Alert early Monday morning (05-25) after the girl was apparently abducted while playing in front of her apartment complex in Monroe Sunday evening (05-24). The girl was last seen at about 8:15 PM playing with her scooter. The scooter was later found in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Due to the nature of her disappearance the child is considered to be in extreme danger.
Neviaeh Amyah Buchanan a 5 year old white female, 3′8″, 45 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a red, white and blue striped shirt, knee length blue jeans.
There is no suspect information available at this time.

The suspect is 39-year-old Gerardo Reyes. He’s 5′8”, weighs around 170 pounds and has brown eyes.
